Grape Variety: 100% Malbec

Vineyard Location: ParajeAltamira, San Carlos, UcoValley, 1100 mts
Soil: Shallow loamy soil with surface gravel and large stones. Optimal drainage.
Vineyard age: Malbec planted in 1994.
Vine cultivation: Vertical shoot position trellising (VSP)Canopy management is performed in order to obtain a yield of less than 7.000 kg per hectare. Clusters generally carry small-sized berries, and have adequate exposure to the sun in order to preserve the aromatic characteristics.
Climate: Annual rainfall: 176 mm with less humidity than previous years. Due to the frosts in September and October the production was 30% less than the average.
Harvest details: Hand picked in cases in the first week of April.Bunches are selected on the plant, then harvestedearly in the day and collected in bins.

Bunches were selected by hand before vinification, and the grapes were destemmed. Pre-fermentation maceration for 72 hrs. at 10º C. 14 days of alcoholic fermentation in small stainless steel tanks 24º C. Pumping over is carried out three times a day as well as one or two delestages. 7 day maceration post fermentation.
Ageing: 50% new and 50% second use for 14 months in 225 liters barrels: 60% French, 30% American and 10% Hungarian.Natural malolactic fermentation in barrel.12 month in bottle before release it to the market.

Color: Deep red, withbrightviolethues.
Nose: Thenotes of red fruits, plumsand blackberriesare intertwinedwithnotes of cranberryalongwitharomas of carmel, vainilla and mocha fromthetime spentin theoak.
Mouth: The mouth feel is very well-balanced, centrentrated with smooth tannins that give it great personality and a persisisnte finish.
