ALLAMAND VALLE DE UCO CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Grape Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Allamand Valle de Uco Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 is a 100% cabernet sauvignon that is made with fruit that comes from two of the four vineyards that Cristian works in Valle de Uco:
- 95% comes from the 14-year-old vineyard planted in the district of Las Pintadas, department of Tunuyán. We picked this fruit, by hand, April 15 through 18.
- 5% comes from the 14-year-old “Juan Pablo Calandria” vineyard planted in the district of El Peral, department of Tupungato. Fruit was hand-picked on April 23rd and 24th .
The 2013 vintage for us was a great year as all our vineyards enjoyed excellent weather conditions and escaped from suffering any pest, hail storm, extremely hot days, etc. These conditions meant that our Allamand Valle de Uco Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 shows more fresh fruit, optimum maturity, and more complexity than our previous years. In the mouth the wine is more serious than the previous vintage showing more body, structure, and power in the pallate.
Total production of this wine was 2,200 cases with only 5% going through first, second, and third used French oak barrels for less than 8 months.
