LUMINIS LUJÁN DE CUYO CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Grape Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Single vineyard wine that is made with fruit that comes from the 7- year-old “La Lucita” vineyard, located in the district of El Carrizal, part of Luján de Cuyo. Fruit was handpicked on April 18 and 19.
Very similarly to what happened during the previous year, the 2013 vintage experienced very good weather conditions that allowed for a smooth and complete maturation of the grapes everywhere we tend vines. Particularly in the Luján de Cuyo area, our fruit showed great health and maturity while the thermal amplitude that dominated the maturation season was the expected for this “warmer” region (when compared with Valle de Uco of course.)
The most impactful characteristic we find this wine is showing in its 2013 vintage is the amazing step forward this vineyard has made in only one year. The detail oriented work executed on this vineyard is lending a maturity and complexity to this wine that is expressed through more fruit forward characteristics, and even more tones of regalis and mint that are so characteristic of the Cabernet Sauvignon from the La Lucita vineyard.
Total production of Luminis Luján de Cuyo Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 was 2,800 cases with only 5% of it going through second and third year French oak barrels for less
